Basketball Scrapbooking

Tips & Ideas

Basketball scrapbooking is a great way to preserve your love of the sport.  Your pages feature your favorite team or player, event, or memorable moments in basketball history.  Die cuts, journaling, stickers and themed paper are just a few of the supplies available in a basketball theme.

Scrapbooking supply store have a variety of items to choose from, but they are not the only place.  Your favorite magazines are full of great pictures and lettering to create one-of-a-kind pages.  To treat these items, simply coat them with an archival spray before adding them to the page.  If you cut out a picture of Michael Jordan, you can combine it with a picture of yourself.  The page looks as if you are playing with Jordan and the journaling could tell the story of a great shot you made in a game or about your dream to play with him on the court.

Ticket stubs or newspaper articles are great for making a scrapbook page about an event you attended.  Draw out a piece of yellow cardstock to look like a basketball court and attach it to a solid color card stock by gluing the two short sides and the bottom to create a pouch.  This works as a great holder for your memorabilia.

On one end of the court, draw a basketball net and attach lace or tulle for the netting.  Then, cut two basketballs with a small tab at the top from cardstock and tie together with a white ribbon.  The white ribbon can then be attached to the page by pulling it through the paper just below the netting.

The journaling can be wrote onto a smaller circle of white card stock and attached in the middle of the two basketballs.  To add a player, simply find the picture of a basketball player, cut off the head at the neck, and attach a picture of your head.

There are many ways that one can scrapbook when it comes to basketball, be creative and adventurous!
